January 2016

Some of you may have noticed the outside of the Pool building looking rather better than it has been!

We have used a very generous donation from the Derwent Lions (http://lions105c.org.uk/derwent/) to have the building re-painted and it looks fabulous once again.  Many thanks to all at Derwent Lions for their continued support of local projects - please check out their webpage for upcoming events.

Please be aware we are having slight issues with the "Contact Us" email - if you would like to make a booking or have an enquiry please call the Pool Phone 07432 350598 as the method of contacting us whilst we sort the technical issues out.  This will ensure your enquiry will be dealt with.  Thank You

May 2015 - Lockers

Our new lockers are finally installed and up and running.  There are 6nr lockers in each changing room for the storage of wallets, keys or other valuables whilst you use the swimming pool.  They require a £1 coin to operate - this is returned after use.

April 2015 - Special Announcement

Pete Giles has worked tirelessly to maintain the Swimming Pool over a number of years and it's safe to say that the Pool would not be in the state it is today without Pete's help.  Sadly from the Pool Committee's perspective Pete has decided to "retire" from the Pool to pursue another worthy cause in the village, namely the new Changing Rooms at the football field on Low Catton Road.  Our loss is their gain and we wish Pete all the best in his new "retired" work!!  Thanks Pete!

March 2015 - Update on Pool Improvements

We are pleased to announce the completion of the building work that has seen the total transformation of the Changing Rooms at Stamford Bridge Community Pool.  Over the last 3 weeks both the Male and Female changing areas have been completely transformed into a modern, warm changing area and both toilets have been modernised to a wonderful standard.

The Gallery area of the website shows a number of images that show the transformation of the Changing Rooms and some before and after shots of the "Porch" area that was built in November 2014 to offer some shelter for users of the pool when coming out of the Changing Rooms.

The majority of the work undertaken over the last 18 months has been made possible by a grant we received from Sport England of £50,000 to improve our facilities - this has been spent on;

New uPVC windows to the Pool Hall

New Heating Units in the Pool Hall

The uPVC Porch area behind the Changing Rooms

The Refurbishment of the Changing Rooms

We are in a constant state of refurbishment and repair - so we will continue to Fund Raise and seek grants etc.  The village is incredibly fortunate to have such a facility but it does take a large amount of cash to keep it running!

September 2013 - Update on Pool Improvements

We're pleased to report on the following improvements that have recently been carried out or are planned:

Phase One - Improvements and repairs to the existing pool

The existing timber windows and the two fire doors from the pool hall have now all been replaced with double glazed UPVC windows and doors.  All of the lighting to the main pool hall has been replaced with new light fittings.  The existing heating, ventilation and humidity control equipment to the main pool hall has been replaced, which should make for a much better environment within the main pool hall. Other work has been carried out to the pool structure and plant room to improve water quality and prevent water loss that had been an issue before this work was undertaken.

We aim to complete improvements to the changing room heating and ventilation by the end of October 2013.

Phase Two  - New extension to provide an enclosed corridor to the changing rooms and entrance/reception area:

Planning approval has now been received for the proposed extension and discussions are in progress with the council to obtain Building Regulation approval.
